All is quiet - as you would expect for mid December, although a couple of hardy families have just made a booking for Boxing Day...beats watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang again we reckon. Autumn proved to be a very busy period with plenty of group vists. Also, the gods blessed us with some lovely October weather which meant everybody on their half-term breaks had smiley faces!
The "seasonal" photo shows the one and only occasion snow fell and settled on our old Greenacres course during our eight years there.
Well here's hoping that everyone has a peaceful Christmas and we hope to see lots of you again during 2008.
SEPTEMBER 22ND 2007

Despite us being really busy over the past few days - we've been running a team challenge event for a local school who draws students from all over the world (see photo) - there seems to be be a real end of summer feel around the place at the moment (maybe because it is the end of the summer!!). Now seems to be a good moment to draw breath and reflect on our first season here on the new site. All of our regular visitors have stated that the great vibe and atmosphere that was present when we were at Greenacres has followed us up the road here to Hafan y Mor...I don't think we could have hoped for a better start. We hope that we've remembered to thank the many people who have supported and helped us out over the past few months and a special massive thanks goes to all of our Instructors. Their enthusiasm, sense of fun and total professionalism ensures all of our visitors are having an amazing time.

This summer's essential fashion item seems to be wellington boots. The beautiful weather we had in the springtime promised so much but since then....! Anyway, despite the rubbish weather, we're currently right in the middle of our busiest period time of the year with a great mix of groups (schools, youth camps etc.etc.) and folk on holiday coming to us from far and wide. The photo shows our latest visit from CCIW (Christian Camps in Wales) who thankfully brought some rare sunshine with them - not a wellie in sight!
JUNE 22ND 2007

It's been obvious over these first three months that all of our visitors are enjoying the
NEW Ropeworks experience just as much as our visitors of past years. Also, it's been good to see some familiar faces from the Greenacres' years visit us here at Hafan y Môr. New faces have included the JCA (Junior Choice Adventures) crowd who are with us at the moment. Throughout June scores of 13-16 year olds from all over the UK are spending a residential week here at HyM with JCA and they're incorporating Ropeworks in their activity programme.
Behind the scenes, we're looking to improve the aesthetics of our site by creating more green areas. Instructor Training is ongoing and we've got some fresh new faces on board (including Cecily and Jemma - photo) who seem to have settled in nicely with the old craggy ones!
APRIL 30TH 2007

We're open!! (have been for a month now). It was a bit hairy scary, with everyone still running around cleaning and sweeping just moments before our first visitors arrived - but Jonny, Nick, Dave, Helen Angharad and Mike were able to pause and pose for this historic photo prior to the first ever session. The pleasure of being the first adventurers on the new course went to Brentwood School (Essex). It was quite apt that it was them as they are old friends having over the years visited us at our old Greenacres site...thanks again for your support Brentwood.
It really was a case of us hitting the ground running as the Easter crowds descended on us during our opening week. Lots of jolly people enjoying the Ropeworks experience in glorious weather made April 2007 a month to remember.
MARCH 19TH 2007

Loads of work has taken place over the past few weeks and our new site is at last really looking like a rope-course. All poles have been sunk and our high tower is built. Next on the schedule is the intallation of the 3G(force) swing and the climbing wall. The final site tasks will be to prepare the path walkways between each element and erect the perimeter fencing. The interior of our reception building has been re-designed and once the paint is dry will house the kit room and the office. Nick is demonstrating his roofing skills as he constructs a covered veranda area that will provide shelter for spectators.
Instructor training sessions have been scheduled and it's all getting exciting as our 3rd of April opening day approaches.
JANUARY 12TH 2007

At the end of 2006, after 7 great years and 1000's of visitors (all having a great time of course), we said goodbye to our Greenaces site. Yes, it was a sad occasion – is that a tear in the eye of Instructor Mike as he tidys up after running our very last session!?
Anyway, everyone's feeling excited as it's onwards and upwards as we prepare to move up the road to Hafan y Môr and start the construction of our brand new course.
